Well, now I know where Dracula got Slogra--it was one of those flamingo-humanoid pole-dancers!

Let it be known that imprisonment in foreclosed real estate does NOT make undead dino happy.

(That damn Gergoth has already killed me several times.)

DARCULA FANFICTION [25 Sep 2008|10:52pm]

Just like my last post, this comes courtesy of the Castlevania IRC channel, #cv on irc.mandog.com .

There was something else that was funny that was also mentioned in said channel, but I can't remember it. I'll make another post when I dig it up.

Heheh, I said "dig it up".

Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles [02 Nov 2007|01:46am]

The "main game"/the remastered, updated Rondo of Blood = "Reintroduction to Old School Hard". (Good game but I bet there's people tearing their hair out! Also, Richter needs to learn to run.)

There was word they were going to re-translate and re-record all the dialogue for the included/unlockable Symphony of the Night. >.>....<.<...This begged for testing...
Old (Infamous) version: "What is a man, a miserable pile of secrets?"
And now..."What is mankind but a miserable cesspool of hate and lies." (And, while I haven't checked if it can be played with original-Japanese voiceovers, the English VA's AREN'T as "stab eardrums out and mute for cutscenes" bad! Or at least "make fun of bad".)

It is indeed retranslated!

(And it is still hilarious when the person with the most useful basic-attack in Rondo ISN'T the Belmont with the whip...
But the little twelve year old with the killer doves. XD; )

*pointpointpointpoint*...^^ Rondo localized -and-...
Well, a redone translation for Symphony of the Night means less heckling ne? I wonder if the infamous miserable pile of secrets line survives XD...
(thou my favorite on the *SNERK* value lines was the "What do you here?" in the clock tower from Maria...probably just 'cuz my mind did a hard right into the gutter.)

Alucard wears glasses, you just don't know it yet. [25 Jul 2006|09:42pm]

I figured it's been a while since I posted so here's yet another Castlevania-related travesty:

A while ago, I did a fan art of Alucard and a Venus Weed. Here:

Well, my friend decides it needs to be made more awesome...Collapse )

Aaah, thank you Corey. Thank you.

Richter scale. [25 Jul 2006|12:44pm]

So I was listening to a report about a recent earthquake, and someone mentioned the Richter scale.

Any suggestions on what the Richter (Belmont) Scale should measure?

There are certain things you can't let it measure, since it's obviously skewed if you make it a scale of coolness of Belmonts, for example. But we should so have a Richter scale for the Castlevania series.

I can't belive I hadn't thought of this before. [22 Jul 2006|01:44pm]

"Who you gonna call?"

(In case you're interested, I happened to watch part of Blade II recently, and upon seeing a large number of undead freaks, my first instinct was some kind of Belmont and Sons Undead Exorcising Services, Inc. joke.)

(Also thank the local car dealership where I used to live for abusing this same song.)

Top ten reasons not to be a Belmont. [02 Jun 2006|06:49pm]

TOP TEN REASONS NOT TO BE A BELMONT (cross-posted to bulby01)

I just came up with this while being bored working on something else.

10. Gotta ask for leaves of absence from your regular job--reason: saving the world from the lord of the vampires.
9. Bondage jokes.
8. Your fate is to pull all-nighters. Oh, and Adrian gets to sleep, but you don't.
7. Vampire hunting training.
6. If strange things start happening--such as your girlfriend disappearing or another friend suddenly looking suspiciously sexy--you have to go do something about it.
5. Ah sh**, what a ****ing horrible night to have a ****ing curse.
4. Risk of being kidnapped on your eighteenth birthday.
3. Continued rumors that one of your ancestors had "relations" with a dhampir. And not like you actually have proof to the contrary, unfortunately, even though you're pretty damn sure that's not the case.
2. You have a family history of being allergic to submersion in water.
1. Rule of Simon: No one can be as cool as Simon.

Thanks to the song "Being a Belmont Sucks" for inspiring this.

What. [11 Mar 2006|01:30pm]

Somewhere along the way, one of the descendants of Ricky's wife's family decided that furryism was the way to go.

Who else has too many lives? [10 Mar 2006|12:49am]

"Why does Sigma always come back after being utterly destroyed?"

"He got some BAD INFLUENCE one day in 2136."

(If you don't know the Mega Man X series, you might not get this.)

Olrox Genesis? [05 Mar 2006|11:33pm]

What about the idea of actually writing the Olrox Genesis? We already do have one line written for us; we simply have to supply the rest of the text.

Some starting pointers:

+ When quoting people, leave out quotation marks and just use commas, just as people do in editions of the Christian Bible.
+ Keep in mind that the Belmonts may be mostly stupid villagers. Hence something like Simon Belmont saying "I no unnerstan whuh you talk bout" from http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamespy.com/Features/trivia.html (see down in the section with the dancer on stage). However, someone better make a running gag of "You suck, your castle sucks, and your theme song sucks."
+ The fourth wall is meant to be broken.
+ Have fun coming up with roles for Belmonts that never appeared in games. Also have fun with explaining how the Baldwin, Graves, Morris, and Lecarde got into this. (I hate the "another story" excuse, along with IGA's retconning.)
+ A suggestion: IGA should occasionally show up as a God-figure, but characters are allowed to "give him the finger" and defy him anyway. And IGA also counts as a newbie. (I have this scene in mind where IGA tells a Belmont to go do something and then the Belmont calls him an idiot and corrects him, at which point he's like "...oh.")
